Criteria for Qualifying the Contractors:

1. The Contractor should have executed at least one single work of similar type costing not less than the amount shown below (amount put to tender) in the last five financial years:
   
   a) For Category - I : Rs. 6 crores.
   b) For Category - II : Rs. 2 crores.
   c) For Category - III : Rs. 1 crore.
   
   
2. Annual turnover of the contractor shall not be less than the amount shown below in atleast two of the last five financial years:-
   
   a) For Category - I : Rs. 8 crores
   b) For Category - II : Rs. 3 crores
   c) For Category - III : Rs. 1 crore
   
   
3. The contractor should have the ownership of atleast following equipment / machineries.

4. The form to be submitted is enclosed to this booklet. The form should be filled in completely and all questions should be answered. If any particular query is not relevant, it should be stated as 'Not applicable'. Only dash (-) as reply will be treated as incomplete information. All applicants are cautioned that in case of incomplete information in the application or any change(s) made in the prescribed forms, the application shall be liable to be summarily rejected.

5. All the information must be neatly handwritten or typed.

6. Application shall be accompanied with a non-refundable crossed DD of Rs. 20,000/- for Category - I, Rs. 15,000/- for Category - II and Rs. 10,000/- for Category - III towards enrolment fee. The D.D. shall be drawn on any Scheduled Bank and should be in favour of the M.D. KNNL, payable at Bangalore.

7. Except the DD all other documents / certificates along with Annexures attached to the application form shall be kept in proper sequence in one sealed cover. The cover shall be superscribed "Application number …………. for enrolment in the select list of contractors - Category - I, II or III." The Application number shall refer to the number on top of Application Form.

8. Information and certificates furnished alongwith the application form should be signed by the Applicant-Contractor. The documents submitted alongwith application form will not be returned.

9. Once the application is submitted to KNNL, neither further / additional information and correspondence will be entertained nor KNNL is bound to call for any clarification.

10. The select list of the contractors so prepared will be valid for a period of one year or more as may be decided by KNNL.

11. The KNNL reserves the right to remove the name of the contractor from the select lists of contractors at any stage, in case it comes to the notice of KNNL at a later date that any information provided by the contractor at the time of enrolment was not factually correct or due to unsatisfactory performance of the contractor.

12. The contractor's name should be continuously on the registered list of class - I contractors with PWD of GOK and same is not removed / black listed by the PWD. The contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that the validity of his PWD registration certificate is extended from time to time.

13. The contractor shall submit :
Certificate from Executive Engineer in case of Government and Semi-Government and from the Head of offices in case of limited companies and Registered Co-operative Societies or organizations for having executed atleast one single work costing not less than the amount specified in para 1 (i) in the last five years.

Certificate from Income Tax Department/ latest Audited balance sheets countersigned by Chartered Accountant that the annual turnover of contractor is not less than the amount specified in para 1 (ii) in atleast two of the previous five years

13. The contractor should have sufficient experience in the construction of the civil works of similar nature. Works of similar nature include dams, barrages, canal works, head works of Lift Irrigation Schemes, bridges on river, C.D. works and other hydraulic structures etc. It shall not include works such as roads, flyovers, buildings, overhead tanks, underground reservoirs, thermal power station etc.

14. The letter regarding enrolment in the select lists of contractors shall be issued by the MD, KNNL, Bangalore.

15. Enrolment in the select lists of contractors shall not confer the right on the contractor to claim award of contract, nor does it give any guarantee for awarding any work to the enrolled contractors.

16. The materials like steel, cement etc., unless otherwise specified, shall be procured / obtained by the agencies only.

17. If the application is made by an individual, it shall be signed by the individual with his full name, current and permanent addresses with PIN code. If the application is made by a proprietary firm or a company, it shall be signed by the duly authorised signatory with his full name and address and the full name of his firm with its current and permanent addresses with PIN code.
