1) Karanataka Neeravari Nigam Invites agencies / firms who are well versed with Strengthening and Improvements of Aqueducts and have executed similar works to Pre-qualify for Submitting their tender for works of Strengthening and Improvements of Aqueducts on Malaprabha Right Bank Canal in KM 24 and KM No 32 The Details of Works are as given below. STATEMENT OF WORKS
2) The period of completion is 15 Months Including Monsoon season & Watering Season the works are to be proposed to be taken up during available closer period between 15th March to 15th June 4) Following are the Pre-qualification Requirements for the execution of the above works. i) The agency should be well versed with Strengthening and Improvements of Aqueducts ii) The agency should have carried out similar type of work costing at least Rs. 70.00 lakhs for Thuparihalla Aqueduct and Rs. 120.00 lakhs for Hunsikatti Aqueduct in a singal work in the last five years for which supporting documents shall be furnished weigtage of 10% shall be considered for each year. iii) All the equipment used for Strengthening and Improvements of Aqueduct work by the agency shall be standard make and good Working condition while working no damages or cracks are formed to the existing structures. List of equipments / Machinery, make and year of purchase with support documents should be furnished for following equipments iv) The agency is not permitted to offload the awarded work either in full are in part to any other agency (i.e., sub contracts) v) The agency /Firm who wish to be Pre-qualified can obtain blank document for Pre-qualification in duplicate from the office of the Executive Engineer MRBC Dn No -3 Byahatti during Regular office hours on payment of Rs. 5000.00 (five thousand) payable by Demand Draft (Non-refundable) drawn in favour of the Executive Engineer MRBC Dn No -3 Byahatti payable at Hubli on 25-03-2008. vi) Sealed completed Pre-qualification documents in duplicate will be received by the Executive Engineer MRBC Dn No -3 Byahatti on 28-03-2008 before 5.00 pm. The cover should be super scribed as Pre- qualification documents with Name of the work . Agency / Firm who wish to apply for both works should submit Pre qualification documents separately. vii) The names of the Pre-qualified bidders will be notified on the notice board on 29-03-2008 at the office of the Executive Engineer, MRBC Division No-3, Byahatti. The tender booklets will be issued to the qualified agency / firms only. viii) Additional information clarification, if any required may be obtained from the office of the undersigned during office hours on all working days.

Special Conditions :- 1. Agency’s site engineers-in-charge of work shall have a minimum work experience of 5 years in similar Strengthening and Improvements to Tuprihalla/Hunasikatti Aqueduct jobs. Proof of the same shall be furnished along with technical bid. each Aqueduct site shall have at least one site engineer. 2. The entire Strengthening and Improvements to Tuprihalla/Hunasikatti Aqueduct reach undertaken shall be leak proof and the agency /firm should be guarantee the same. 3. The entire Strengthening and Improvements to Tuprihall/Hunasikatti Aqueduct work shall be carried out as per specification, sketches and directions of consultants and Engineer-in-charge from department. 4. All materials like steel, cement, special chemicals, fine aggregates, etc., shall be approved by the consultants Torsteel Research Foundation of India (TRFI) and department prior to procurement of materials. 5. All relevant materials required for Strengthening and Improvements to Tuprihalla/Hunasikatti Aqueduct shall be procured and stored in advance prior to commencement of work. However, the shelf life of all construction chemicals shall not be less than three months from the date of receipt of the material at site. 6. The respective cube specimens of shotcrete and concrete shall be cast at site under identical conditions and tested at Torsteel Research Foundation in India (TRFI) Civil-Aid Technoclinic Pvt. Ltd., (CAT) NABL approved laboratory, Bangalore or any other NABL approved laboratory in presence of consultant and department officials. at the cost of agency. 7. All construction materials/ construction chemicals used for construction shall be tested prior to use in construction and periodically during construction at the cost of agency. These materials shall be tested at Torsteel Research Foundation in India (TRFI) /Civil-Aid Techno clinic Pvt. Ltd., (CAT) NABL approved laboratory, Bangalore or any other NABL approved laboratory. 8. Water and power required to carry out the Strengthening and Improvements to Tuprihalla/ Hunasikatti Aqueduct work shall be arranged by the agency at his cost. 9. Charges towards load test and Hydraulic test shall be at the cost of Agency which includes testing, material for testing and arrangements for testing. 10. All debris shall be removed from the Aqueduct periodically as and when required and completely removed prior to completion of work. 11. All quantities indicated in the estimate are only indicative and the actual quantity may vary. All measurement will be recorded jointly by agency and department officials for payment of bills. 12. First aid facilities at each site shall be made available by the agency at his cost. 13. The agency should deploy one four wheeler in good condition to meet any emergency at each site. 14. The Agency should provide gum boots, helmets, hand gloves, safety belts and other safety equipments for all the workers and staff at work site. 15. The guarantee period (Defect liability Period) for the work executed will be three years from the date of completion of works. Only after the guarantee period. EMD and FSD will be released. 16. Taxes and levies such as sales tax, income tax and royalty etc., as applicable will be deducted from the bills of the Agency.
General Conditions:- 1. The intending agency/firm shall carefully inspect the site conditions before furnishing the pre-qualification bid 2. The agency/firm shall make his own arrangements for providing temporary accommodation for crew and staff and also machinery yard. 3. The work is of time bound nature and hence the agency/firm should commence the work within 48hours of receipt of work order duly furnishing the construction program. 4. The agency /firm shall produce documents regarding their financial soundness /capacity from scheduled banks. 5. Even though the agency/firm meets the qualifying criteria, they are subjected to disqualification if they have made misleading or false representations in the forms, statements and attachments submitted in proof of the qualification requirements and incomplete filling of details in the pre-qualification document and or record of poor performance such as abandoning the works, not properly completing the contract, inordinate delays in completion, litigation, history of financial failures etc., 6. A certified copy of income-tax clearance for the last assessment year should be enclosed. 7. Sales-tax clearance certificate should be enclosed. 8. Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Ltd., Reserves the right to verify the correctness of the statements and documents furnished and inspect the jobs executed by the agency/firm, if found necessary. 9. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Chief Engineer, KNNL, Malaprabha Project Zone, Dharwad shall be final and binding on the agency /firm. 10. The general conditions of Contract except or otherwise mentioned specially will be as per the standard document of Form No.PWG 65 adopted by the KNNL and binding on the agency /firm.
