Sealed percentage tenders by manually or electronic tenders (e –tenders) in the prescribed form are invited by the undersigned on behalf of Managing Director, Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited, from contractors enrolled in the select list of contractors of KNNL under Category-I who satisfies the prequalification criteria for the works mentioned in the statement below.

The blank tender documents can be obtained through website www.knnlindia.com and by linking to e-tender (i.e., once you are in the above website, click on e-Tender wizard, which will link to www.tenderwizard.com where electronic tendering is provided) and can be submitted through electronic tender box available therein OR the blank tender documents can be obtained and submitted manually in the offices mentioned in Sl.no.5Brief details of the work put to tender.

 Pre-qualification requirements/conditions:
Note:  The Bid documents will be issued to such of those bidders who produce documentary evidence for meeting all the following pre-qualification requirements.
    1. The Agency should be a Category-I enlisted contractor under KNNL and Enrollment letter should be furnished. 
    2. The Agency should have executed a single similar nature of work of Dam and allied works costing not less than 80% of the cost of the work put to tender.ie., not less than 56 crores.
    3. The annual turnover of the agency in any two financial years during the last 5 years should not be less than 80 crores.
d)         The bidder shall deploy the requisite machineries/ equipments for execution    of the works and bidder also need to furnish the ways and means for deployment of the machinery / equipments required for completion of work within the stipulated period. Further the contractor should use only RMC         ( Ready Mix Concrete). Hence he should deploy machineries required for the same like Batching plant, Transit mixer, Concrete pumps etc.,

            In addition to above the bidder shall also need to furnish the ways and means for deployment of special equipments like high pressure electrically operated grout pumps to develop pressure upto 20 MPa (multiple numbers), multi chamber shortcreting equipment provided with compressors to develop pressure upto 20 MPa. (multiple numbers), equipment for spraying curing compounds, plate vibrators, needle or shuttering vibrators for compaction of concrete, mechanical equipments for concrete mixing, electrically operated chisels for joint cleaning and pointing, high speed electrically operated drills for shear connectors / anchors, dewatering devices and core cutting diamond tipped devices upto 150 mm capacity etc.e)    The intending bidder shall furnish the above documents at the time of application for the issue of tender documents to substantiate   the pre- qualification criteria specified above. The fulfillment of which is a pre-requisite for pre-qualifying & issuing of bid documents.
  1.   In E-tendering the above pre-qualifying documents should be submitted by  scanning and also submit the copy of the same to the division office on or before 17-03-2009 for issuing blank tender document.
  1. Documentary evidence for the pre qualifying requirements prescribed for the Technical qualifying requirements, certificates issued by the concerned project authorities and for financial qualifying requirements, latest audited balance sheets certified by chartered Accountant shall be furnished. The certificates & the audited balance sheets shall be enclosed along with the application for the issue of bid documents.
  2. The agency at the time of submission of tender should give a detailed execution plan fortnightly programme to complete the works in full manner in 24 months without fail. The programme can be modified with mutual consent.
  3. The works will be constantly monitored by the Executive Engineer and if there is any slippage in achieving the programme / milestones month-wise, a penalty / liquidated damages as indicated in the agreement / tender document would be levied. However, these liquidated damages will be refunded if the contractor makes good the shortfall in the subsequent months or completes the whole work before the stipulated date of completion.
1)   The contractors can request for blank tender document from 02-03-2009 to      16-3-2009  up to 5.30 PM in the KNNL website www.knnlindia.com link e-tender or in the below mentioned  offices(Sl. No.5) from  02-03-09 to 04-03-09 up to 5.30 PM on  payment of  application fee as mention in column 5 towards the cost of tender document and also in the office of the Executive Engineer, K.N.N.L., Dandavathy Reservoir  Project Division, Shikaripura, from 02-03-2009 to          16-3-2009  up to 5.30 PM. The cost of form shall be paid  in the form of  Demand Draft (DD) or Bankers cheque of a Nationalized Bank / Scheduled Bank  drawn in favour of “Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited”  payable at Shikaripura (Non-refundable).While applying the contractor should enter the particulars of the payment like Number of the DD, Date, Amount and the Name of the Bank. If the contractor  requested through e-tendering, the original DD should be submitted at any one of the following offices from  02-03-09 to 04-03-09 up to 5.30 PM and also in the office of the Executive Engineer, K.N.N.L.,     Dandavathy Reservoir  Project Division, Shikaripura, from 02-03-2009 to  17-3-2009  during office hours along with a letter specifically mentioning the name of work.

            The contractor should satisfy himself  that he meets all the Pre-qualification criteria for himself before submitting the requisition for tender document. If he fails to submit the requirement, his Demand Draft (DD) or Bankers cheque amount will not be refunded.
  1. Blank tender documents will be issued to the pre-qualified contractors in the offices mentioned at Sl.no.5 and also in the KNNL website is  on 09.04.2009 upto 05.30 PM.
  2. Date for submission for completed tender document manually and also through  e-tendering is  on 24.04.2009 upto 04.00 PM
  3. Date & time of opening of Tender Document is on 28.04.2009 at 11.00 AM at Registered office of KNNL, Bangalore.
  4. The request for blank tender document, issue of blank tenders and completed tender documents will be received in the following offices on the respective dates mentioned above.
      1. Registered Office, Karnataka Neeravari Nigam Limited, 4th Floor, Coffee Board Building, No.1 Dr. B.R Ambedkar Veedhi, Bangalore – 560 001.
      2. Central Office, KNNL, WALMI Building, Dharwad.

  5. EMD should be in the form of DD or Bank Guarantee of a Nationalized or Scheduled Bank drawn in favour of the Executive Engineer, KNNL, Dandavathy Reservoir Project Division, Shikaripura, payable at Shikaripura. Tenders received without valid EMD and required validity period shall be rejected. The validity of EMD shall be for a period of 180 (One hundred Eighty) days from the date of opening of tender and EMD shall be submitted along with tender booklets.
  6. The contractor shall obtain blank tender documents from website and submit the completed tender document into electronic tender box on the website itself. The EMD shall be scanned and attached to the e-tender document and original EMD shall be submitted in person to the Executive  Engineer, KNNL, Dandavathy Reservoir Project Division, Shikaripura on or before 25.04.2009              before 05.30 PM and also at the office of the Managing Director, KNNL, Bangalore on 28.04.2009 before 10.30 AM.
  7. Conditional bids including bids with stipulation for settlement disputes by references to arbitration will be rejected.
  8. Any documents submitted through post / courier is at the risk of contractor and KNNL is not responsible for any delay in submission of tender booklets.
  1. The officer competent to accept the tender shall have the right to accept reject any or all the tenders without assigning any reason whatsoever.
  2. Corrigendum will be published in the website, news papers for all modifications/corrections if any.
  3. The contractor should attach his / her scanned signature to the Schedule “B” before submitting completed tenders.
  4. If any of the dates mentioned above happens to be a general holiday, the next working day will holds good.
  5. All the materials like cement, steel, blasting materials etc., should be procured by the contractor only.
  6. The intending contractors should note that, if any of the lands (either in part /  parts or in whole) required for the work is not yet acquired by the Nigam, it shall be the responsibility of the contractor to take possession of such land and start the work by consent of the owners before commencement of work at no extra cost to the Nigam and no claims whatsoever relating to non-availability of land would be entertained.
